About 13point7.

Yours truly.
This blog circles around the idea of the universe being 13.7 billion years old as opposed to the 6,000 or 10,000 that a lot of religions claim. It touches on subjects like astronomy and physics, biology, geology, chemistry, and then of course religion, philosophy, and social issues that are in regards to these topics.
Over enough time it aims to change a few minds or at the very least get those that oppose these ideas to join the discussion and listen to the argument from the other side that is currentlty emerging in these overly religious times.
A little about me. Who am I? I am you. I am everyone. I am a run-of-the-mill guy. I got my Bachelors degree in Astronomy from the University of Hawaii at Hilo in 2007. I am currently working on a mountain called Mauna Kea on the big island of Hawaii where some of the biggest and best observatories in the world reside. In a search for truth, reason, and logic, I began to see the hypocrisies and inconsistancies of many western religions and felt it was my duty as an educated person to enlighten those that are willing to listen and hopefully gain the attention of those that are not. So without further ado, I dare you to read on.

Hi Joshua,
Nice to meet you. I saw your blog on the A blogroll.
You’re definitely not a “run of the mill guy”! I’ll be checking back…
Take care,
Debra
Hi Debra! Nice to meet you as well. Thank you for the kind comment, but I try not to offset myself too much, or maybe, coming from the other direction, I try to believe that just about anyone is capable of the same things I’ve done.
