If Bachmann Becomes President, I’ll Move to Canada
Last Friday, Republican presidential front runner Michele Bachmann was quoted as saying:
I support intelligent design [...] What I support is putting all science on the table and then letting students decide. I don’t think it’s a good idea for government to come down on one side of scientific issue or another, when there is reasonable doubt on both sides.
One of the most amusing things about this is that this was her response when asked about Nobel Laureates who support Intelligent Design; she had previously made the claim that many do. Notice she totally dodged the question at heart.
Indeed there probably are some Laureates that support ID. But I’m pretty certain there are very few (if any) Laureates in the field of biology that do.
Isn’t this supposed to be a country founded on undividing principles? I know this country is proud of its freedom of religion. But that doesn’t mean someone as uneducated as this should force their religion (and lack of education) on the rest of the country.
